Located in downtown Belleville, on the edge of Prince Edward County, one of the fastest growing wine producing regions in Ontario.
In the Heart of Belleville, an easy walk from all the important local sites. Housed in a century old building, Dinkel's and Paulo's Restaurant reminds us that food is more than the substance of life. Some people don't want a quick snack or a "speedy chicken", they want to enjoy their food leisurely. They want it carefully prepared, elegantly served and they want time to enjoy it in a pleasant atmosphere. Paul Dinkel lovingly created such a place to please people.
After a decade of owning and operating successful restaurants in Yorkville Toronto, Paul Dinkel set his sights on opening a restaurant in beautiful Belleville Ontario. Dinkel's Restaurant was Paul's dream come true.
A second restaurant was born, Paulo's Italian Trattoria Nextdoor to Dinkel's Restaurant. Paulo's was the first to offer a Brick Oven wood fired Italian pizza in the area. Both restaurants connected in the middle allowed for a shared dining experience and food.
Dinkel's Restaurant went through and extensive full renovation and update of the full interior. The "Secret Garden" Courtyard was updated and the wall was removed in order to install a large glass sliding door/wall of windows. The rear dining room and courtyard hybrid create a seamless indoor/outdoor dining experience during the warm season.
Nationwide shutdown. Paul Dinkel had to make the hard move to temporarily close the doors to both Dinkel's and Paulo's restaurants. After the pandemic, the restaurants were both combined into one.
Entering through Dinkel's Restaurant's original front door, Paulo's - Dinkel's Italian Restaurant is a combination of the two restaurants operating at 44 Bridge St East Belleville, Ont.
